Has any one else noticed that in real life spiders are not as neat and tidy as dear Charlotte? Charlotte always cleaned up the old webs as soon as they were damaged. When the large hornet destroyed part of "Some Pig" she calmly started taking down the rest of the web and began a fresh one. I wish the spiders in my basement laundry room were so tidy. Instead, I have rather slothful spiders or are they simply convicting spiders? They thoughtfully leave their torn webs behind to collect hunks of dust. I suppose it is so I can see them better. But I have noticed they are much like me, accumulated dust doesn't seem to bother them. They just build another home right in front, or behind, the previous web. No, I do not have any of Charlotte's daughters in my house. A pity really.
We have had two glorious days here. Today while the children were out playing in the back yard, I had to remind them once more that they could not play in the gold fish pond. (minus the gold fish.) Emily, "But why?" Me, "Because I don't want you wet and muddy or hurt if you fell in." Emily, "Well, we are just waking up the frogs and telling them it is spring."
